The "Fanshop of Globalization" explains the global economic system on the basis of examples from the world of soccer.
Soccer is part of the global value chain, providing worldwide media networks with non-stop stories and producing brand images worth billions of dollars. Labor migration and social inequality are also part of the world of soccer.
The "Fanshop of Globalization" sheds light on the economic mechanisms, political circumstances, and cultural contexts behind the changes taking place in the world economy today.
For each of the topics, five fashion labels (Belepok, Florinda Schnitzel, Substrat, Urban Speed, Vonwedel&tiedeken) have taken soccer jerseys from around the globe, cutting them up and refashioning them into apparel that serves purposes quite different from those originally intended.
In the container a number of mappings made by onlab will provide background information on globalization. In in the shop the card game "Schwarzer Peter der Globalisierung" will be on sale.
The "Fanshop of Globalization" is a project of the German Federal Agency for Civic Education and raumtaktik.
