Combine the languages to increase understanding
Francesco Franchi
The impressive and qualitative body of work, that Francesco presented, as well as the consistence of the production for IL Magazine impressed the audience tonight. Francesco explained how he treats soft news as hard news, mix low level content with high level graphics and combine the languages to increase understanding. Thinking in an infographic way and make things appealing allows the magazine to entertain the reader as well as contextualise the information. Passion is the first thing in Francesco's job. There is always a part of interpretation or a sort of subjectivity in his stories.

Stefan talked about his all times favourites, good and bad, truth and fary tales and showed us how colin powell used infographics. Therefore, Stefan describes how ideas comes into mind and how mistakes creeps in the design process.
Visual Journalism
Discussion after the lectures
Infographics is a journalistic expression. It allow you to merge new way of thinking and approach graphic design in a different way. But how much of interpratation is allowed? Where are the borders of subjectivity?
Visual Journalim is a new way of telling stories and requires cross-disciplinarity skills, than – what you see is always more important that what you read. It's therefore fundamental to interact we the people involved in the process, to experiment and try new way of visualisation.
