This Is Not A Poster

The poster was designed as the first in a series that is part of a communication concept that onlab developed for the Museum of Fine Arts in Le Locle. onlab proposed to curate a poster series by inviting young designers and artists and present them in the light boxes of the building while the museum being closed during construction works.
Limited edition of 50 numbered posters
'This Is Not A Poster' is based on a poster that was designed for a previous exhibition L’industrie in summer 2009. onlab applied silk-screen-printing-technique on top of the existing poster and overprinted parts of the existing letters with a white translucent color. New red elements were added on a third layer on top of the extracted parts of the previous poster: by subtracting and adding elements onlab transformed the existing letters into new ones that read the new title This Is Not A Poster.
onlab was awarded for its design of This Is Not A Poster among the 100 Best Posters 2009 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
The exhibition with the award-winning posters is subsequently traveling to Essen (D), Dornbirn (A), Luzern (CH) and Vienna (A). The exhibition catalogue with all 2010 award winning posters is out now and available at the exhibition venues.
