Editorial design as an experiment, or how to create an alternative magazine. The task in Bremen was to explore new and challenging ways of designing around a topic that is commonly communicated in rather plain ways in mainstream media. 'Sex' was the topic and the students were to give it multiple meanings and readings.

Everyone relates to the topic of sex in a very personal way. To articulate a subjective angle and to find an adequate formal approach was the core challenge. The result is real pleasure.

"Pornini" – The principle of the world famous "Panini" albums (sticker collections) adapted to a porn magazine.
The names of 44 different sex positions are listed in the magazine with a short description. The respective pictures presenting the positions are sold separately from the magazine. The bold and black censorship bars help the reader to place the pictures at the right position into the magazine. All the pictures were shot exclusively for the "Pornini" magazine.

"Augenblick" (snatch) – A glance in the daily routine, 1 second of time and an avalanche of phantasms.

"Dirty Talk" – Text samples of Bret Easton Ellis are printed (silkscreen) on tissues and replaced in regular tissue packages.

"Childhood Memories" – The magazine illustrates in a subjective way memories related to sex thoughts. The texts of are set in German and Chinese. Wax traces are revealing some part of the textes or images.

"Fetish" – Typographical homage to the artist Leigh Bowery.

"Censorship" – Complex paper foldings covering/discovering informations related to sex education.

"Redlightcity" – Guidebook listing the redlight districts from several cities around the world.
General informations are displayed on the left page, a drawing of the streets on the right page. An additional poster presents the fictive "Redlightcity" (mapping composed by all the drawings).
