Centre Pompidou-Metz

Museum's guide

For the Centre Pompidou-Metz, the Lorrainian branch of the renowned Paris museum institution inaugurated in 2010, we designed a guide and portrait offering a glimpse back at the history, architecture and first five years of prestigious programming that have made the institution a resounding success. Enriched with a large number of photographs, the publication introduces the Centre Pompidou-Metz by collecting descriptions, timelines, maps, and architectural sketches about it, giving an overview over its educational program as well as over past and upcoming exhibitions.

For the realization we decided to use Chromo Lux, a quite unusual paper for a publication like that, and to play with the paper’s very own characteristics: For all pages involving colour photographs we used the coated, for all text pages we used the uncoated side of the paper; an approach not only supporting the quality of the printed subject, but also entailing a strong rhythm that influences the special dynamic of the book.
