Creating a strong and recognizable visual identity for the Museum of Fine Arts in La Chaux-de-Fonds (Switzerland) was the main goal when developing the concept for the museum’s posters & brochures.
Therefore onlab decided against the classical communication of art shows. Instead of plainly pasting one of the exhibited art works onto the poster, this one should fulfill its original purpose in the urban context: to catch the attention of the passersby, and to distinguish themselves from other posters, billboards and loud visual elements of the city. A strong visual system plays with typography as a shape for the artwork and creates powerful graphics that clearly stick out in the urban setting.
The poster was designed for the exhibition ‘Parcours. François Ditesheim’, February 6th – April 17th, 2011.
