The exhibition “Sachsen – Werke aus der Sammlung Deutsche Bank” showcases artists associated with the famous art academy in Leipzig, representing the artistic and stylistic versatility and the rich cultural scene of Eastern Germany between the 1950s and 1990s. The structure of the catalogue reflects the different sections of the exhibition: A visual index for each is followed by generous double spreads focusing on selected art works.
Haptics and materiality have been important aspects of the catalogue’s making of, whose cover is referring canvas, while recycled paper (texts) forms a textual brace around the catalogue’s visual core consisting of white uncoated paper.
