onlab is proud to design the first monograph on the extensive work of Palestinian artist Steve Sabella.
Born in Jerusalem in 1975, Sabella with this publication celebrates nearly 20 years of artistic work, showcasing the genesis of an photographic œuvre arisen under aspects of exile and identity, of migration and broken topologies at the early 21st century.
At the end which me am I in us?
the Palestinian writer Mahmoud Darwish did ask. Sabella seems to have this question in mind when exploring constructions of identity, and investigating the different ways people are trying to get an idea of the world, recognizing that there are always alternative perspectives.
The publication structures the comprehensive artistic œuvre chronologically, dividing text and images sections haptically by the use of two different papers.
